Salute everybody. Tomorrow we will begin to transform this group and start a new project entitled “Channel 85”. An idea which we’ve been onto for quite some time.
The reason behind this idea is that the organic reach of artist and label pages on Facebook has recently reached a new all time low. Social Media – and Facebook in particular – has been massively commercialised and acts increasingly ruthless towards its users lately. The only thing the algorithm hasn’t touched yet in terms of reach is groups.
At Channel 85 we will invite artists and labels that work around the 85/170 BPM area (e.g. Halftime DnB, Jungle, Footwork, Dub) to post their content directly as group admins and straight from their artist pages. This makes things more professional, keeps private accounts out of the game and provides pages the organic reach that they should get.
Additionally we will create a Channel 85 website that functions similar to a blog and collects both content posted in the group, as well as externally curated posts by moderators and artist.
The goal is to provide you one go-to platform for all things “85 BPM” (and nearby).
A small team of moderators will keep Channel 85 spam free and contribute selected posts both in the group and on the upcoming website.
We’d love to have you with us in order to build and develop this idea and community together.
